Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how VeilcastRPG ("VeilcastRPG," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our application and related services (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

When you register for an account, we collect the information necessary to create and maintain that account, such as your email address, password (stored in encrypted/hashed form), and any display name or campaign data you choose to enter within the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information you provide is used solely to create and operate your account and to provide you with the Service — for example, authenticating your login, saving your characters and campaign progress, enabling account recovery, and powering the AI features described in Section 2A. We do not use your account information for any purpose beyond operating your account and the Service.

2A. How We Use AI

VeilcastRPG uses artificial intelligence (AI) to run the game. AI writes the Dungeon Master's story replies, turns those replies into spoken audio, answers questions about your campaigns (the Lore Keeper), helps with support requests (the Support Scribe), and writes some emails about your campaign.

What is sent to AI:

• What you type or say in your story, and the recent story so far
• Character details you enter: name, race, class, stats, items, backstory, traits, flaws, and goals
• Your language setting
• Messages you write to the Lore Keeper or Support Scribe

We do not send your password or payment details to AI. Please do not put private or sensitive information (like health, financial, or ID details) into your story or chats.

Who handles it: AI requests are processed through the Base44 platform and its AI service providers, on our behalf, only to produce the reply you asked for. We do not sell this information. We do not use it to train our own AI models. Those providers have their own terms and privacy policies.

AI can be wrong. Replies are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, odd, or not what you wanted. You can use the Report button under any Dungeon Master reply to flag it. A report includes the reply text, the reason you pick, any note you add, your email, and your campaign ID. We review reports to improve the Service, and they are deleted if you delete your account.

Voice input: If you use the microphone button, your browser or device converts your speech to text. That is handled by your browser, not by us.

3. We Do Not Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes. Your information is only accessed by the infrastructure providers necessary to run the Service (such as our hosting, payment, and AI service providers), and only to the extent needed to provide that functionality — never for any independent use of their own.

4. Your Rights (Texas Residents)

If you are a Texas resident, you have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, including the right to:

• Confirm whether we are processing your personal information, and access it
• Correct inaccuracies in your personal information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Obtain a copy of your personal information in a portable format
• Opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising, or profiling (note: we do not engage in any of these practices)

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

5. How to Request Deletion of Your Data

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time by emailing hello@veilcastrpg.app with the subject line "Data Deletion Request," or through our Contact page. We will verify your identity and process your request within the timeframe required by applicable law.

6. Age Requirement

The Service is rated 18+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it promptly.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. If you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your information except where retention is required by law.

9. Governing Law

This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

10. Developer & Publisher

VeilcastRPG is built and published using the Base44 platform (base44.com), which hosts the application's backend infrastructure and processes data on our behalf to operate the Service.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective" date above when changes are made.
